The Evening Standard reports “women are failing to save for their pension but beat men when they do”.  “research from Hargreaves Lansdown suggests women have 19% more cash ISAs than men have. “That means there is some money available somewhere,” points out the firm’s personal finance analyst Sarah Coles. “It means there may be more to this than simple affordability.” 

Here’s a surprising thought about women’s risk aversion: when they do invest, it actually works in their favour, reckons Coles. They are less likely to invest in riskier assets than men, which makes their investments less volatile. They are also more likely to focus on funds than men, which naturally diversifies their portfolios, she points out.”  Read all
